The story takes place during the 4th Sengoku (warring states) era of Japan, an area of the Rance World which parodies medieval real-world Japan. Sengoku Rance picks up where Rance 6 left off. Rance, after saving the nation of Zeth from destruction, ran away so he won’t have to marry the princess. He and Sill ended up in Japan for a hotspring trip, upsetting the power balance of Japan, and sets the unification of its provinces in motion. Meanwhile, an ancient evil power stirs from its slumber Meet the alternate reality versions of Oda Nobunaga, Uesugi Kenshin, Takeda Shingen, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Mori Motonari, One Eyed Masamune, Hojo Soun, Sakamoto Ryouma, Yamamoto Isoroku, Saint Francis Xavier, and many more famous Japanese historical figures in the world of Rance! I’m having the same issue as Manwa a few posts up: I’ve downloaded all the parts, 1-15, and extracted them.
What do you gain with a 100% save for KR aside from CGs that you can see by extracting the files or checking the panda? Did you clear Tamanegi? I really think I'm liking VI more than Sengoku, they both have great gameplay but Rance and most characters have better dialogues in VI. Also here is translated SpoilerAL and Sengoku Rance cheats. Open SpoilerAL and Sengoku Rance. In SpoilerAL window click 'Location of the SSG file' find the file inside the SpoilerAL folder which is called MAIN55.ssg. Double click 'Sengoku Rance' inside SpoilerAL window.
No problems there. I’ve mounted the rance iso and used the English Patch 1.01 to install the game. Again, no problems with the installation or any other error-messages there. When I run the game though, I get the intro with the girl and the company logo – along with the music – to show, after that though, the window goes black and a message pops up in non-intellible letters (not japanese) and I’m given the option of “ok” and “cancel”. If I press “Ok”, the mssage repeats infinetely, if I press “cancel”, the game shuts down.
I’ve tried unsintalling and re-installing, as well as using both Custom Installation and Quick Installation, I’ve also tried installing it into different folders – nothing has thus far worked though. If anyone has had a similar problem and know of a way to solve it, I’d be very happy because I really want to try the game.
- The player is thrust into the role of Kentarou, a character many of you may recognize from the games Kichikuou Rance and Sengoku Rance. Kentarou’s girlfriend Miki has been kidnapped and taken to another world by the nefarious Count Dracula (who would in later canon be retconned into Demon King Gi).

Sengoku Rance English Download
Well, I could try^^ (Though be warned, there is no such thing as a failproof download method; there are individual differences depending on your machine and something always goes wrong) 1. If you don´t have it yet, you need “WinRar” (search google, first result, download, install, it´s free). If you don´t have it yet, you need “Daemon Tools” (check the FAQ on this site for download link and detailed installation guide; it´s also free if you choose the lite version, which is more than enough for this) 3. Installer Serveur Ftp Windows Server 2012. Now for the actual download: Scroll upward->click DA-free: Game Download ->click the first link. You will have to enter a captcha and wait two minutes until you can start the download;(make sure you chose WinRar archiver to open it; it should be default though) depending on your net connection that may take a while, the files are not exactly small. Now I hope you brought some time, because you will be repeating step 3 with all the other 14 links as well. Only once you got all of them, you can procceed.
Now comes the tricky part: You got the entire game on your hard drive. You just have to “put the 15 pieces together” to make it work: Open WinRar->search for the “SengokuRance.part01.rar” file you just downloaded (if you can´t find it just double click it in your browser´s download list to jump directly there) ->right click ->choose “Extract files.” ->choose an nice place to extract them to (maybe create a desktop folder called “Sengoku Rance” and put it there; you can also just click ok to use default location) ->drink tea and wait. The folder you extracted them to should now contain a file that ends.iso Time to open “Daemon Tools” (basically a program that creates virtual disc drives)->click “Add Image” ->search for the folder you just extracted the stuff to and double click the.iso file ->it should now be in your “image library” in daemon tools ->just double click again to mount it. Your computer is now officially fooled into believing you actually own the Sengoku Rance CD. The rest ist relatively easy; come back to this website, click the “DA-free: English patch download” directly beneath the game download and repeat step 3 with the “Sengoku_Rance_English().exe.” After you successfully downloaded it, double click in your download list to run it (sometimes it runs automatically, nevermind). A setup will appear and you can just install the game like you would with any normal game. After that, just click the desktop icon, start the game, play, enjoy.
If for some reason it still won´t work (as I mentioned, something always goes wrong)welljust hope it doesn´t. Still, this website has a pretty amazing community, so if you run into problems, just read the comments above, 9 out of 10 cases it was already asked about and solved. Well, that was a rather lengthy comment^^ I hope it is somewhat understandable; at the end of the day, getting this thing to work without any experience is a tough job and I don´t have enough space to go into more detail. Just try to follow those directions closely and write another comment if you got questions. Hey all, I’m having trouble with installing the English patch to sengoku rance. I think I mounted the game correctly as I get to the Japanese untranslated setup menu.
The first time I tried the English patch it installed correctly and started up, it went to a small intro with a girl then it stopped and said system40 error with untranslated words below it, with no other option but to press ok. I tried to re install the English Patch but I am now getting a System40.exe error with this “The program can’t start because ijl15.dll is missing from your computer” I’ve tried to re install again and it keeps coming up, any suggestions on how to fix this? Can someone PLZ post me a link to a good guide/walkthrough for this game. I tried the version 1.11 walkthrough on gamefaqs, but from turn 14 the walktrhough isn’t worth anything anymore, since in the old version you could supposidly have an extra “action fan (extra turn)”, when you got “rance sattisfaction bonus +10”, but i only get this option around “rance statisfaction bonus +50” in this version, so it’s immposible to follow that walktrhough. I need some help with this, cause when i tried the game without a guide i did conquer some territories but some girl i didn’t wanted to die(and didn’t die in walkthrough), died, and another girl got raped by some fuckin monster and i HATE NTR and i am completely grossed out by it.
I’m not goin to touch this game anymore untill i have a good walktrough. Citroen Proxia Software Download. So if anyone could help me, i’d appreciate it.
Compared to FSN or Family Project (etc.) not really. The story is Rance – defeat your enemies, H all the pretty girls and enjoy life.
There is continuation of character and some events throughout the Rance series and in Sengoku, there are some minor character stories, but the main draw is the battle to conquer (and save ultimately) JAPAN. Still, if you want your VN to be story driven, this might not be for you. Palfinger pk service manual.
What’s amazing about this VN is the re-playability. Once you get done with the 1st playthrough, not only is there a 2nd playthrough (albiet very similar but you can recruit some other NPCs), 3 alternative routes (Kenshin, Ran & Isoroku), a “kill the monkey route” (see the wiki to avoid spoilers) and a free for all where you can start off as another house and try to conquer from another perspective. Well, all games I have played so far of this category (Utawarerumono, Koihime Musou) are not a great story and much options, but choices to spend the time of the protagonist with determined girls at the end of the day. About the story, I dunno, Utawarerumono had a nice story, although it wasn’t something awesome. Still, those kind of game are enojyable in their own way. Of course, if you want a good story, there are another ones, like FSN, Family Project, Clannad, G-Senjou no Maou, Sharin no Kuni, Saya no Uta, etc. AWESOME game – most fun/addicting eroge I’ve played.
FSN has an great story, but this is actually challenging. It would be fun even if it was all ages. Definitely recommend getting the walkthrough & checkig out the Wiki since attacking places randomly won’t work. Install was a bit tricky for me. I don’t have Daemon Tools, so I just burned the DVD (single layer is cheap anyway), and then installed using the english patch. If using Vista/Win 7 (I’m running Win 7 64bit, install into a “C: Games” folder – not “Programs” or Programs (x86).
You DO have to run it with Applocal when you play. I made a shortcut using Applocal, put it on my desktop & then right click/run as Admin to play.
Never had an issue or needed the DVD post install. Hi thanks so much for providing this game it’s one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played in a long time. It’s a lot like Romance of the Three Kingdoms with a adult theme to it ^_^. I was able to get this game to work on Win 7 x64, This is what I did. I downloaded the game but did not install it, First I installed a program called Applocale, This program is provided free by windows. If your using windows 7 like me then it’s very easy to use and install. Once that was installed I opened the cd and ran als_inst.exe using the Applocale program not the cd itself.
Once that was finished I installed the game. I hope this helps. I haven’t had any issues I see all movies and the game runs great. Thanks again everyone ^_^. I Hope somebody can help me. I have this Problem with this Game and Utawarerumono ( Also downloadet from here ). Both Games are Working.
But in Both Games i have the “Intro Bug”. Game starts, Intro starts, you hear the Sound and Music from the Intro but the Screen shows only Black. After the Intros are finished, the Menue pops up and Game works Fine.
I know this is a minor Problem but i would be Happy if this Case was solved. And yes i tried to load the Video Files of both games Manually in external players like Media Player Classic or Video Lan Player.
An in BOTH Players the Videos are fine and playing normally. So ists not a codec Isssue. Sengoku Rance with English Translation Patch 1.01 After Using AppLocale Once to get over the the Start Bug after the Mini Intro/Logo it starts now without it. Not played Yet but it starts, and goes to the Menue. Problem with the Setting, only 800*600 seems to work.
Everytime i Try to set another Resolution and click on okay, it resets to the 800*600 reoslution for Fullscreen. Utawareumono with English Translation Patch 1.01 and Voice Patch 0.4. Working Fine with the Workaround ( Setting Windows to 800*600 16 bit and Running Game in Window Mode because of the Super Speed Bug with 32 bit and Fullscreen ) Also Bug Crashing everytime you save. Only One Crash during Normal Gameplay. Game almost finished, 95% of CG and ALL Scenes Unlocked so far. Both Games Installed via the English Patches and not from Disk itself.
For Both Games and the Bugs tryed Running as Administrator, and with Compatible Modes 95 / 98 / XPSP2 / XPSP3. Landini 9880 parts manual. Not working antyhing of it. System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
CCCP Codec Pack Summary: Games working Videos working in external Players Videos NOT Working in the Games. As i said, outside of the Games the Videos working in any Player like VLC or MPC. I’m out of ideas to get them working in the Games. Are there more Videos for Both Games like ingame or Endings? When not okay then i must Life with this.
And any Ideas why i cannot Change Resolution for Sengoku Rance? I’m Using the ingame Options for Fullsceen.
Theres a Huge List of Resolutions for Direct Draw, but nothing else but 800*600*32 is working. Nothing changes after clicking ok and the Option resets to that Resolution. ( Desktop runs at 1280*1024*32 ). Easily the best Eroge game I’ve ever played. I rank it along the top 10 games I’ve played in all.
Amazing story, amazing characters, amazing gameplay, amazing H-Scenes, and an amazing time sink. This game needs a lot put into though. It can be considered incredibly hard if you don’t know what to do, but the pay off is well worth playing it for. The other Rance games are being translated by another group, they recently finished 1 and are moving on to 3. Though those games are much different than the strategic overlay type of game SR is. They’re more of dungeon crawlers.
Story:A Art:A Gameplay:A- Audio:B+ Eroness:A Sengoku Rance has many interesting characters and plenty of backstory from previous Rance games. The art is very nice and detailed. The gameplay consists of turns and a battle system that are both pretty good and the game pushes you to engage in “extreme gaming” where you try to do as much as possible in a set time period. The sounds are a bit overused but the music is very good.
The erotic quality is very good even without voices because of the kinky situations Rance gets into.
Sry for late reply my pc was messed up,for rance 4 look with 2 byte value. And if anybody needs i have a save file for sengoku rance all cg unlocked. Ted, Oct 3, 2016 Ted, Oct 3, 2016. Discussing Save game editing on Sengoku PC message board and forum (page 1). Rance 5D, Rance 6 and Sengoku Rance, in this order. Arguably the best games in the franchise, in this order. The best is that they are all direct sequels of each other.

Sengoku Rance Table of Contents Walkthrough
Table of Contents
There are several routes in this game that are classified as routes, but don't have any real storylines. These routes are only available after you have cleared the True Route.
- 3Free for all
- 3.2Challenge events
Kill the Monkey route[edit]
This is recognized by the game as a route when you save progress, but it isn't quite a true route. There isn't an actual story attached to it, it's more of a sandbox mode than anything else. The main purpose of this route is for getting points and watching obscure events relatively uninterrupted, since you're not restricted by story-related events as in other routes. It's also a good route to use for getting the Takeda bonus. This route ends when you defeat every country on the map and end your turn.
In order to open the route, choose the option 'Can Kill Toukichirou' in the Family Bonus section. It costs 10 points. On turn seven, the 'Kill Toukichirou' command will appear in Owari. This will last until the event when the first gourd breaks, which can vary depending on your actions in the game.
All events related to Xavier will no longer appear. There is no storyline for the most part, except for the Shimazu House; their actions are the same as in the Ran route. However, in this route, Suzaku appears if you visit the Oil Dungeon when looking for Hojo Soun. So this particular plotline follows the True History route rather than the Ran route. However, as Soun cannot fight Suzaku for revenge, you will not be able to clear him. Also, Kobayakawa Chinu does not die in this route, so you can use and clear her. Sill, Kouhime, and any other characters who would disappear in various other routes will all remain present in this route.
The Shimazu brothers will randomly cause one of your female captains to defect. Only females who can be fired and is not in Love relationship will defect (Patch 1.03 makes it sufficient to keep your female captains if they have at least Trust relationship). This appears to be a random event as you can reload to the previous turn and get a different result. Defected captains cannot be re-recruited even after you recapture them. Certain higher-priority events can prevent a defection by displacing the defection announcement event at the beginning of a turn.
Demon King route[edit]
This is the route you are on if you fail to get the Hirami Lemons or find Miki after her disappearance. She becomes the Demon King and wages war on Japan. A series of beginning-of-turn events will show Kentarou joining her (as all demons must obey the Demon King) and Rance receiving a series of letters from Hornet and Kayblis, the leaders of the two demon factions that were looking for her. You are basically told to restart the game because it is impossible to win.
All Demon Army units start with all four buffs, and they will gain a large number of troops/commanders every turn, so you can't bleed them out like in the True Route. All unit sizes are dramatically increased. Kentarou and Xavier have 8000 troops in their units, Keikoku has 4000, and Miki is a 247 HP solo unit that is nearly invulnerable to everything but instant-death attacks and has a nuke attack that instantly kills anything it hits regardless of size or stats (but guard shikigami can still block it). Castle battles in the original four Shimazu territories will still function normally (they always have the same units defending, just with different unit sizes), so Miki will never defend a castle. During these battles, the defending units will not have any boosts. Battle permits also still function normally, so you can stalemate the Demon Army infinitely if you have the gold needed to keep them functioning.
It is still possible to 'win'. Use Battle Permits to take all non-castle territories, and don't bother defending any attacks by Miki. Be sure to defend against all of the normal armies, however. Then grab the castle on your next turn. On the last province, you can use Covert Action to prevent the Demon Army from attacking at all and secure a free route to the castle via Battle Permits before attacking normally next turn. When you conquer all Demon Army territories, you will get an event where Rance confronts Miki and Kentarou where Kentarou accuses Rance of cheating. Rance tries to attack Miki but the duo disappear. Rance complains he's too tired afterward, and then the game ends with the bad end's 'Game Over' screen.
There is no true ending to this route. No matter how you progress, you will encounter a Game Over screen. Consequently, you won't receive any points on this route either.

Free for all[edit]
Similar to the Kill the Monkey route, this mode allows you to play until you've defeated every other country. In this mode, however, the player doesn't have to play as Oda, and almost no scenes occur, including character events.
You start by choosing which country you want to play as and you're shown a short scene explaining why your country is going to war. The game ends once there are no more hostile countries, even if you're in a truce with some.
Free for all mode doesn't use the same system as the normal routes do, you build different structures to increase maximum troop size, or increase profit per turn. You can also make temporary truces with surrounding countries to reduce the amount of attacks you receive per turn.
Structures[edit]
- Build barrier (Rank #) - Makes it harder for enemies to attack
- Build mansion (Troops +1)
- Build free market (Income +3%)
- Build shopping district (Income +200)
- Build hospital (Heals 10 troops)
- Build Buddha statue (Building two gives you an item)
- Build control center (Troop max +200)
The +200 income shopping district is more effective then the +3% free market and so are their upgrades. It's a good idea to build one upgraded +3% market for every six upgraded +200 markets. Also, once you get an item from a pair of Buddhas, it's recommended you destroy them and build something else in their place, as they become useless. You can't rebuild them again and obtain another item either.

Challenge events[edit]
There are two challenge events in the Cairo and Oshu provinces. Two hidden clear game report achievements exist for clearing the challenges, but they will only show on your report after you've cleared them. The reward for each challenge is one of each skill book 2. The difficulty in these challenges is that you can only use each unit once during the challenge. The sections below show what kind of units and how many troops they have are in each fight, as well as how many units are recommended for you to use. The totals both come out to about 30 units, and it's recommended you don't try and complete these challenges before you reach that many units.
Campaign of Bunroku[edit]
The Campaign of Bunroku challenge (located in Cairo) consists of eight battles.
- Fight 1 - Two foot soldiers, one warrior. Both of them have 300 troops, and variable action fans/special abilities; use one or two units.
- Fight 2 - Two warriors in front row, and one warrior and two archers in the back row. All of them have 300 troops, and again, they have variable special abilities; use two units.
- Fight 3 - A peasant with 5500 troops, and a warrior with 450 troops are in the front row, and a peasant with 5500 troops, an archer with 500 troops, and another archer with 6500 troops are in the back row; use four units.
- Fight 4- A warrior with 5500 troops and a foot soldier unit with 450 troops are in the front row. A warrior with 3500 troops, an archer with 3500 troops, and a diviner with 2000-4000 troops are in the back row. Don't let the diviner use his shikigami attack on you; use five units.
- Fight 5 - One peasant with 5500 troops and one foot soldier with 450 troops; use two or three units.
- Fight 6 - One peasant with 5500 troops and one foot soldier with 450 troops; use two or three units.
- Fight 7 - A warrior with 5500 troops, and a foot soldier with 8450 troops are in the front row, and a warrior with 3500 troops, a foot soldier with 7500 troops, and a diviner with 5000 troops are in the back row; use six units.
- Fight 8 - A warrior with 5500 troops, and a foot soldier with 8450 troops are in the front row, and a warrior with 3500 troops, a foot soldier with 7500 troops, and an archer with 5000 troops are in the back row; use six units.
Russo-Japanese War[edit]
The Russo-Japanese War challenge (Located in Oshu) consists of seven battles.
- Fight 1 - One ninja, warrior, and monk, each with 300 troops; one unit.
- Fight 2 - Two foot soldiers, each with 1000 troops, and a warrior with 800 troops in the front row, and a miko with 300 troops in the back; three units.
- Fight 3 - Two foot soldiers, each with 1000 troops in front row and a musket with 800 troops (has four actions and the the special cannon ability Country Crush, an attack that hits everyone for massive damage, he is a high priority target.) in the front row, and an archer with 8500 troops and a tactician with 500 troops in the back; six units.
Fights 4 & 5 can be in reverse order, and both fights may contain cavalry. There maybe other types as well. Be ready for anything as those two are the hardest fights in the challenge. Also, the ninjas in these fights have the ability Assassination, so they can be dangerous.
- Fight 4 - Three ninjas with 2000 troops each in the front, and in back, a foot soldier with 5300 troops, a ninja with 2000 troops, and a tactician with 500 troops; six units.
- Fight 5 - Three cavalry units with 1700, 1800, and 1000 troops are in the front, and a foot soldier with 7000 troops, an archer with 3500 troops, and a tactician with 500 troops are in the back; your six strongest units.
- Fight 6 - Two pandas with 2000 troops each, and a foot soldier with 8000 troops; three units.
- Fight 7 - One Foot soldier with 9000 troops is in the front, three mikos with 1000 troops each are in back; five units.

Rance is a role-playing video-game series created, developed, and published by AliceSoft.[1] It is the oldest continually-running erotic video-game series. The first installment, Rance – Hikari Quest –, was released in 1989, while the last main-series game, Rance X – Decisive Battle –, was released in 2018.[2]
The Rance series follows the titular character, Rance, as he saves a number of kingdoms, defeats demon invaders, and causing mischief in the in-game world, 'The Continent.' He has appeared in most of the main series games as the playable character, accompanied by his loyal slave, Sill Plain. The main series has nine games, while the Kichikuou Rance sub-series has five games either released as a part of the sub-series or canonically altered to be in that time-line. In addition, the first two games, Rance – Hikari Quest – and Rance Ⅱ – Rebellious Maidens –, have been retro-actively superseded by their later-released versions, Rance 01 – Hikari Quest – and Rance 02 – Rebellious Maidens –.

Rance – Hikari Quest –[edit]
Rance is given the task of finding and protecting the daughter of a rich family by Keith Gold, the owner of a local guild to which Rance is attached; he appears in almost all of the Rance series games. Rance investigates the city, while Sill investigates at Paris Academy, where the kidnapping victim attended school. The first game made by AliceSoft, it was released on the PC-8800 and PC-9800 series of computers, as well as the Sharp X68000, the MSX 2 and 2+, the FM TOWNS, and the PC88VA. A Windows 95–03 version of the game was released in the late 1990s, about eight years after the first game was released.
Rance 01 – Hikari Quest –[edit]
Rance 01 – Hikari Quest –, released for Windows in 2013, has the same setting as Rance – Hikari Quest –, and replaces the latter in the main canon. The game featured an improved gameplay system, and features more new content from Rance – Hikari Quest – comparatively to Rance 02 – Rebellious Maidens –, the re-release of Rance Ⅱ – Rebellious Maidens –.
Rance Ⅱ – Rebellious Maidens –[edit]
The city of Kathtom, a member of the Free Cities Alliance, is suddenly entombed under-ground by the Four Mages who were tasked to guard the town by Ragishss Cryhausen, the city's former guardian. Rance sets out with Sill to defeat them, but soon learns that their minds were corrupted by the power of the rings that they wield. Rance sets out to prevent them from receiving the magic power the rings grant. It was released on the same computer systems as the first Rance game was.
Rance 02 – Rebellious Maidens –[edit]
A graphical re-make of Rance Ⅱ – Rebellious Maidens –, released for Windows in 2009. It was the genesis for the other early Rance series game re-releases. It did not contain as much new content as the next re-release, Rance 01 – Hikari Quest –.
Rance Ⅲ – Fall of Leazas –[edit]
Leazas, a kingdom ruled by Queen Lia, who marries Rance in the Brutal King Rance time-line, is invaded by the warring empire of Helman, to the west. Demons are believed to be the cause of the attack, and to solve that problem, Rance sets out to find the 'Chaos' sword, which contains the soul of an incredible thief from about one and one-half millennia ago. It was released on the PC-9800 series of computers, along with Sharp X68000 and the FM TOWNS; an early Windows release, similar to those that the first two Rance games received, was also released.
Rance 03 – Fall of Leazas –[edit]
A complete re-creation of Rance Ⅲ – Fall of Leazas –, released for Windows in 2015. The graphics are renewed, while the story is changed to better fit into the main canon. It is the most advanced of the early Rance re-releases.
Rance Ⅳ – Legacy of the Sect –[edit]
This game directly follows the events of its predecessor. Rance, having defeated the demons of Helman and saved Leazas, is teleported to Ylapu, a giant floating island above Leazas. There, Rance must find a way to escape from the island, but is hindered by agents of Leazas and Helman who come to retrieve him to The Continent. The legacy alluded to by the game's title is a powerful magical artifact left by the Holy Magic Sect. It was released for the PC-9800 series and the FM TOWNS.
Rance 4.1 ~ Saving Pharmaceutical ~[edit]
Rance accepts a quest to stop a horde of under-ground monsters from attacking the Happiness Pharmaceutical building, where the Seirogan, a healing medicine, is produced. They discover that the perpetrators are the Angel Army; one of their commanders escapes, which begins the next game, Rance 4.2 ~ Angel Army ~.
Rance 4.2 ~ Angel Army ~[edit]
In a continuance of the previous game, Rance 4.1 ~ Saving Pharmaceutical ~, Rance chases down the remainder of the Angel Army, while himself being chased after by an assassination group and three 'Rare Gal-Monsters,' a class of unique enemies that he offended in Rance Ⅳ – Legacy of the Sect –. The two games were released for the PC-9800 series, with a separate on-disc version.
Brutal King Rance[edit]
The game was assumed to be the final in the Rance series, and one of the final AliceSoft games; however, its great popularity allowed the company to continue its production of games. Rance, bored of his normal life, gathers a group of outlaw bandits and takes over some towns in southern Helman. The imperial army quickly puts down Rance's rebellion and take Sill captive; however, he escapes to Leazas, where he marries the country's queen to become a tyrant 'brutal king,' commanding his own army to seek his revenge on Helman. Large opposition forces arise tried to remove the tyrant ruler from power; yet, Rance continues his trials to re-assert his power as the King of Leazas, retrieve Sill from Helman control, and take over the world. Rance, in fulfilling his general rôle as an epic hero, saves The Continent from destruction by a greater evil. It is the first territory acquisition-based Rance game, and was the genesis for other similarly-designed games. It was also the first AliceSoft game released for Windows, instead of any number of Japanese computer systems. All other Rance games to-date have been released for Windows.
Rance 5D – Lonely Girl –[edit]
The temporary stop in the production of Rance games, including the release of 'Daiakuji' a year prior, led to the largest time-gap in-between the release of two Rance games. Rance 5D – Lonely Girl – is based on a unique roulette system, where the role-playing elements are determined by randomisation. In the game, Rance is travelling through The Continent, trying to recover the always-lacking money, when Rance and Sill accidentally enter Genbu Castle, a separate dimension. Rance et al. must then escape the dimension, with a newly-found woman, Rizna Lanfbitt of Zeth.
Rance Ⅵ – Collapse of Zeth –[edit]
Rance, continuing his trials from Rance 5D – Lonely Girl –, travels to Zeth, a kingdom to the south-west of Leazas. He offends Radon, a high governmental official, and is sent to the slave camp; Sill, who he bought from the Zeth slave camp, is treated very kindly. Whilst within the Zeth slave camp, Rance joins the resistance group 'Ice Flame,' which seeks to change the un-equal governing system of Zeth, which is biased against non-magic users. Rance Ⅵ – Collapse of Zeth – is considered to be one of the best games in the Rance series, which is helped by the continuance of the game from the Brutal King Rance time-line.
Warring-States Rance[edit]
Rance sets out for JAPAN, an island archipelago to the east of The Continent, which is modeled after the Warring-States Period of Japanese history. The original English translation of this game, that of Yandere Translations, gave the Rance series, and AliceSoft in general, a noticeable presence in the western world. Warring-States Rance, also known by its title in the Japanese, Sengoku Rance, was one of AliceSoft's best-selling titles of all time. In the game, Rance, having taken control of one of the feudal states, seeks to take over JAPAN through his control of the state, and save it from destruction.
Rance Quest – Rance Quest –[edit]
A continuation of the previous game, Warring-States Rance, wherein Rance returns to The Continent to seek a cure for the curse placed on Sill. While attempting to convince the Queen of Pencilcow, a kingdom to the west of Leazas, to cure Sill, he offends her, and she places a curse on him that he must become much stronger to overcome. He then journeys around The Continent, seeking a cure for himself and Sill. The game is based more upon the cessation of the stories of individual characters rather than a more continuous story-line.
Rance Quest Magnum[edit]
An expansion of Rance Quest – Rance Quest –, this game follows Rance as he quests around The Continent to break the curse incurred upon himself in the previous game. The game focuses on the addition of sundry quests, through which Rance can adventure, ostensibly to cure his curse, although primarily in practice to assuage the effects of the curse.
Rance Ⅸ – Helman Revolution –[edit]
The government of Helman has fallen into the hands of Stessel Ignon, who corrupts the country and plans to take over the entirety of The Continent. A revolutionary force gathers, seeking to replace the former emperor to the throne, and they solicit the aid of Rance, who agrees, hoping to remove Sill's curse. The Prime Minister, Stessel, has been planning this, and his actions have been seen earlier in the Rance series; he pushed for the war between Helman and Leazas in the events of Rance Ⅲ – Fall of Leazas –.
Rance Ⅹ – Decisive Battle –[edit]
The last game in the Rance series, it was released on 23 February 2018.[2] The war amongst the demon lords of the Monster Realm has ended, and they now invade the human realm, to their east. Rance leads the combined forces of all humanity to battle the attacking demons.[3]
